Turkish Delight is described as a pink sorbet colour. I have to admit that I had really high hopes for this lip gloss, because it has been so hyped up. My lips already are fairly pigmented, so I should have known that a milky, pale shade like this one wouldn't work perfectly on my lips. I find that this colour sets into any fine lips that I have, and clings to any dry spots. I've tried using this straight onto bare lips, over lip balm, and over lip stick, and I haven't been able to make it work perfectly for me. Now, I don't hate this lip gloss. I just feel that for a $29 lip gloss, I shouldn't have any problems with it. If this gloss was a $4 drugstore gloss, I wouldn't have too many problems with it. However, for such a high price tag, and coming from a high end brand like NARS, I expect higher quality.
NARS' Lip Glosses come with a doe foot applicator, which I think is a great improvement from their Larger Then Life Lip Gloss' extremely tiny brush applicator. However, I feel as though the doe foot applicator doesn't pick up enough product, so I still have to use about 4 or 5 swipes to cover both lips. Also, this lip gloss smells very plasticy. The formula stays on my lips for about an hour and a half before I feel the need to reapply.
Overall, I'm sure you can guess that I'm not overly impressed with this gloss. I've heard amazing reviews on other shades from this range, namely Easy Lover, so maybe Turkish Delight is just not the right shade for me. I think that I'm unfortunately going to be returning this one (thank god for Sephora's amazing return policy!). Have you tried NARS' Turkish Delight? Do you think that it lives up to it's hype, or that it falls a bit flat? Have any products let you down recently? Leave me a comment below with your thoughts! :)

I've heard such good things about this gloss, it's on my list of things to try!
ReplyDeleteHopefully it works better for you than it did for me!
DeleteI've always been tempted to try this mostly because of the gorgeous look Kim Kardashian pulls off. I just don't think it would work for me. It sucks that you had so many issues with it! Doesn't sound like it's worth the $29! Great review :)

Ya, I think I need to stick to glosses that are more pigmented, or at least not so milky!
DeleteThank you so much! :)
I love the look of it.. anything to look a little like Kim K! I love NARS though xx

Yes I would say give this shade a pass. I love Sephora's policy, it makes me feel way more comfortable buying from them, knowing I can do an exchange or refund if things don't work out :)
